CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — A Charlotte County man will spend the next five years in prison.
Jason Poirier, 37 was charged with one count each of Transmission of Child Pornography and Possession of Child Pornography.
The defendant previously pled open to the court.
A tip came from Twitter that child pornography was being posted on their platform.
A thorough investigation found that the defendant was sharing files containing child pornography electronically.
The investigation ultimately resulted in Poirier’s arrest in August of 2017.
Follow his prison sentence, he will have ten years of sex offender probation and must also register as a sexual offender.
