CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. -- A Port Charlotte man has been charged with burglary and grand theft after detectives found items from a recently deceased neighbor's home in his garage.
Detectives arrested 59-year-old Mickey Kindle, Sr. on Thursday and released him on $40,000 bond.
According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, detectives responded to the 2200 block of Aaron Street on February 10th after Kindle reported finding a neighbor dead in a home. The man's death was determined to be from natural causes.
However, the next day, the man's daughter told deputies that metal lock boxes and Led Zeppelin memorabilia were missing from the home. Neighbors also reported seeing Kindle in the man's home after the death investigation was completed, and said they believed he had a key to the residence.
A search warrant was executed on Kindle's home, where they found one of the missing lock boxes, as well as tools that belonged to the late neighbor.
Kindle was arrested for 3 counts of Burglary to an Unoccupied Dwelling, Burglary to a Conveyance, and Grand Theft.
