CAPE CORAL, Fla. — The Cape Coral Police Department says there were called to a local bar on Wednesday after a person was bitten by a dog.

According to police, a man was hanging near the Hurricane's Bar and Grills in Cape Coral with his dog when another person tried to grab the tri-colored pocket bull's face. That's when the owner says the dog lunged and bit the man's face just below his nose.

After receiving treatment from the Cape Coral Fire Department and Lee County Emergency Services, the victim was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers for their injuries.

The dog is now in the care of Lee County Animal Control for ten days, pending investigation.
