Man accused of killing Lee County bus driver sentenced to Life in Prison

HENDRY COUNTY, Fla. — Eugene Johnson, the man accused of killing 50-year-old Alberta Harris has been sentenced to Life in Prison.

Alberta Harris was reported missing by family members on April 9, 2016.

She was a Lee County School bus driver and mother of six children.

Fort Myers Police began an investigation, and her family conducted an extensive search.

Two days after she was reported missing her car was found in a parking lot of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Fort Myers with blood on the seat and a broken window.

Her body was found in a rural area of Hendry County ten days after she was reported missing by some teenagers in the area.

Johnson, a boyfriend of the victim, was later arrested for the murder.

Johnson was convicted of murder more than 30 years ago in Collier County for stabbing a former lover to death and served time in prison for that crime.
