NAPLES, Fla, -- Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens is giving the community a chance to name three of their newest residents, three African lion cubs.

Name suggestions may be posted to Naples Zoo’s Facebook page through the end of day on Sunday, June 23rd. If you don’t have Facebook but you would like to participate, e-mail marketing@napleszoo.org. Naples Zoo will post your entry for you.

The top finalists will be selected and posted on Naples Zoo’s website for a final vote. The person who submits the winning name will receive a lion sized prize package, including a Naples Zoo membership, four tickets to a preview of Disney’s latest release, The Lion King, a Gator Country/Bob FM swag bag and more! If more than one person submits the winning names, a random drawing will determine who gets the prize package.

Since they are African lion cubs, names that relate to Africa are encouraged, but not required.

Naples Zoo members and guests are anxiously waiting to see the lion cubs, but the zoo says an exact date is not set for their debut. They are allowing Shani, their mother, to be the guide on this decision. When she’s ready to share them with the world, Naples Zoo will make the announcement.
