LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying an unknown suspect who stole more than $600 in razor blades from a CVS store near Fort Myers Shores last week.

According to Crime Stoppers, just before noon on Thursday, April 20th, a heavyset black male walked into the CVS store located on Palm Beach Boulevard at Buckingham Road.

Video surveillance shows that he immediately headed towards the aisle where razor blades were housed and proceeded to fill up a handheld basket.  A store employee, who had a feeling that something was suspicious about the man, waited by the store’s front door, thinking the customer might try to flee with the merchandise.

The employee's instincts were correct, and when he approached the door, the suspect pushed the employee before rushing out of the store and into a white Nissan with clear euro taillights, which was backed into the front handicap parking space.

The suspect is described as balding with black short hair on both sides of his head.  He walked with a limp and was wearing a grey t-shirt, khaki shorts, white socks and flip flops at the time of the theft.

Anyone with information on the identity and whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).  All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.  Tips may also be made online at www.southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com or by submitting a tip on the P3Tips mobile app.
