Lee Schools to talk about school safety and mental health

LEE COUNTY, Fla.-- Lee County School Board members will talk about school safety and students mental health, at their board meeting Monday, July 15th, 2019.

School leaders say to keep your kids safe, there will continue to be school resource officers at every district school. Schools will also continue to only have one entry point per school. All school employees will also have to take an active shooter safety course.

The district will also increase their focus on the social and mental health of students by hiring more mental health professionals. Those professionals will be trained in trauma, crisis situations.
