SAN CARLOS PARK, Fla. — Lee County Sheriff's Office deputies talked a barricaded man out of a home off of San Carlos Boulevard.

Sheriff Carmine Marceno says they responded to a call around 1 p.m. on Monday for a naked man outside a home in San Carlos Park.

Deputies talked with the man, later identified as David Auger, when they arrived and Marceno says the Auger armed himself with a knife and a screwdriver.

Auger reportedly began yelling profanity and retreated into his house, where he picked up a large kitchen knife and threatened the deputies.

Marceno says the deputies retreated and Auger barricaded himself into the home for several hours.

No one was hurt, and the man was taken into custody. Auger is charged with assault on a law enforcement officer, EMT, etc.

He remains in the Lee County Jail as of Tuesday morning.
