DOWNTOWN FORT MYERS | FMPD: False call led to detailed Luminary response

LEE COUNTY, Fla. — The Fort Myers Police Department (FMPD) says a false call was made to 911 outside of the Luminary Hotel.

Heavy Police presence was outside the Fort Myers hotel after a call came into FMPD about gunshots being heard.

FMPD says a call came in about gunshots being heard around 5:24 p.m., and after investigating FMPD determined the call was false and that the area and hotel were safe for patrons.

FMPD says they are still investigating where the call originated from.
