LEE COUNTY, Fla. — A pedestrian was killed Monday night while crossing State Road 82 just west of Gateway Boulevard.
Florida Highway Patrol says a Nissan Murano hit the 51-year-old man just before 8 p.m.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, FHP said.
The crash caused a closure on State Road 82 for several hours.
An investigation is ongoing.
