CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Monday, the Cape Coral Police Department confirmed a murder-suicide investigation is underway in the 5000 block of SW 1st Court.
On Sunday, July 23, at 7:43 p.m., CCPD received a call saying that a coroner was needed at the address. The caller then hung up and could not be recontacted.
The officer arrived at the scene and knocked on the door, but got no answer. The officer then looked through the door and saw an individual with what appeared to be a fatal injury.
The officer then went to the back of the house and entered through the lanai where they had a clear view of a deceased subject.
The officer called the time of death for both subjects at 7:58 p.m.
The scene was declared a crime scene and investigation was turned over to a detective.
