Lee County Sheriffs Office responds to officer involved shooting in Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla. — UPDATE (10:51 AM)-- The Lee County Sheriffs Office responded to a call about a suicidal subject at approximately 9 am.

Deputies made contact with the suspect

The suspect charged at the deputy with a weapon.

The deputy tried to retreat several times before using deadly force.

The suspect was taken to the hospital and is being treated for wounds.

This is still an active investigation.
