FORT MYERS, Fla. – Parents can learn about the risks teenagers face when they vape at several seminars scheduled in Lee County.

The Lee County School District is holding the first of three seminars on the topic Tuesday night.

The seminar also covers traditional tobacco use, but a county prevention specialist says things like cigarette smoking are down. However, she says vaping has been going up each year.

She says they surveyed teens in the county, and nearly 35% have tried vaping.

If you'd like to learn more, the first presentation is at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Dunbar Middle School.

There will also be seminars on Thursday, September 12 at Cape Coral High, and Monday, September 16 at Varsity Lakes Middle School. All seminars begin at 6 p.m.
