LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Primary elections took place in Cape Coral and Fort Myers for mayor Tuesday.
Randy Henderson will retain his seat as mayor for Fort Myers, where he has held the position since 2009.
Mayor Henderson received 70% of votes, while his counterparts, Curtis Sheard and Nicole Dillon, each received less than 20% of votes.
In Cape Coral, Joe Coviello, who received 31% of votes, and Michael Hollow, who followed with 18% of votes, are both headed to the general elections in November.
Coviello and Hollow beat out five other candidates in the race for mayor to replace outgoing mayor Marni Sawicki.
