LEE COUNTY, Fla —
Lee County is prepping ahead of Tropical Tropical Storm Eta.
The system is projected to hit south Florida later this week.
Officials say crews will be prepping in Fort Myers shores near and along Weber Boulevard and clearing pipes in a canal off of San Carlos Boulevard.
They say a DOT operations crew will also be digging swales on Pine Island along Stringfellow Road and Pineland Road in Bokeelia.
Below is a statement from the Director of Lee County Public Safety Emergency Management Lee Mayfield.
"Lee County Public Safety - Emergency Management is actively monitoring Tropical Storm Eta. While it’s too early to determine what impact the current systems will have on Southwest Florida, we are prepared to respond when needed and ask the public to join us and continue to be prepared. Have a family disaster plan, check on your supplies, and stay informed."
