FORT MYERS, Fla. — A sinkhole, approximately 8 feet deep and 10-12 feet wide, opened up between two houses off Hidden Estates Circle.

San Carlos Park Fire evacuated nearby homes.

A Lee County building inspector assessed the properties and declared one home a “dangerous building.” It cannot be occupied until repairs and an inspection are completed.

The county will assist to ensure permits are processed as efficiently as possible.

No injuries have occurred.
