Knife wielding man arrested in North Fort Myers

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. - A man was found swinging a foot-long knife in the middle of a North Fort Myers road.

Lee County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Gregory McCarty after finding him walking back and forth on the sidewalk near Pondella Road and Willow Bridge Drive, carrying the large knife and swinging it back and forth.

According to a police report, McCarty had a strong smell of alcohol coming from him and admitted to being drunk.

He was arrested for disorderly intoxication and also charged with possession of marijuana after Deputies found a bag that tested positive for THC in his pocket.
