FORT MYERS, Fla. — Nearly one-hundred lucky kids had the opportunity to shop with a cop for some back to school supplies Friday morning in Cape Coral. The annual event was hosted by Target. Each student received one-on-one time with an officer and two-hundred dollars to spend on school supplies. Parents and kids tell Fox 4 they are thankful for the help.
"The program is really awesome and it really helps a lot, it helps the community, helps struggling parents with all supplies and doesn't hurt the pocket as bad," said Carrie Weir. "It's important for me to accomplish my goals in school, which I need the school supplies to do it," said Remi Scheiano, a sixth grade student. The students also embarked on another adventure, after their big shopping trip they enjoyed a pizza party at IL Primo Pizza and Wings.
