Judge approves two separate murder trials for Teresa Sievers murder

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. — There will now be two separate trials in the murder of a prominent Bonita Springs Doctor.

Investigators say in 2015 Mark Sievers hired Jimmy Rodgers and another man to kill Teresa Sievers.

The pair were originally scheduled to stand trial together in October.

This week a judge approved a motion by Rodgers attorney to have separate trials stating the jury could choose to convict both based on evidence only pertaining to one defendant.

The other man accused of murdering Sievers, Curtis Wayne Wright Is serving 25-years after taking a plea deal.
