CAPE CORAL, Fla — The Cape Coral Police Department says an Island Coast High School student has been arrested and charged with Sending Written Threats to Cause Bodily Harm.
Investigators say 18-year-old Joshua Zelaya-Sandoval threatened to cause bodily harm to a teacher through a text message.
They say the school's administration was informed about the text message, and the School Resource Officer was notified.
CCPD says this is the second student arrested this school year in connection to threaten violence towards school administrators, teachers, or their school.
They say they take these crimes seriously, and students sending threatening messages will be arrested.
