LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- The deputy that was wounded Thursday when a man attacked him with a knife is now back home from the hospital.
The deputy, who has not been identified, was wounded during the incident at a home on Aura Lane in Bokeelia.
The suspect has been identified as 59-year-old Rickey Beaty. He was shot by the deputy during the altercation and was flown to the hospital for treatment. No word yet on his condition.
An investigation is still under way.
