Increase of mosquito-borne disease activity in Lee County

LEE COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health wants to warn Lee County residents; there is an increase of mosquito-borne disease activity.

The Department of Health says several sentinel chicken flocks have tested positive for West Nile Virus infection.

No human cases of West Nile virus have been reported in Lee county at this time.

Health Officials say people with the West Nile Virus do not feel sick, and only 20% of people develop a fever and other symptoms.
