CAPE CORAL, Fla. — A man is behind bars after hitting the back of a cop car on his motorcycle around 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Cape Coral Police says an officer was on a traffic stop along Pine Island Road West. Police say the officer was inside the vehicle when "an impaired motorcyclist drove into the back of the officer's vehicle."
Phillip Plumlee was thrown from his motorcycle and was lying on the road. He was taken to a local hospital, according to police.
Police say Plumlee was under the influence, having a blood-alcohol level of .225. He was arrested for driving under the influence with a BAC over .15 and for causing property damage.
Police say the officer involved in the crash was not hurt.
