The Fire Marshall is declaring this fire suspicious. He says it looks like someone broke into the home, started a fire in the shower to stay warm, which then spread to the attic.

Firefighters have completed foaming the home for hot spots and have taped up the home.

Right now officials are working to contact the homeowners and property owners.

A home in Fort Myers caught on fire early Friday morning. It happened near the intersection of Belmont Street and Polk Street.

That's a few blocks south of Palm Beach Boulevard east of Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard.

The call came in reporting the fire around 4:40 a.m.

At least seven units responded to the scene and arrived to find flames shooting through the roof.

Officials say the house was unoccupied and undergoing renovations.
