CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- A reported disturbance at a Cape Coral Holiday Inn Express Monday night ended with three out-of-towners in jail.
Police were called to the hotel, located on Cape Coral Parkway, at 10:45 p.m. Monday and arrived at the 4th floor to find numerous people arguing in the hallway.
According to a police report, the arguing was centered around 20-year-old Hayley Meyers of Pinellas Park and 40-year-old Robert Edwards of Manassas, Virginia.
Officers say Meyers had to be restrained by family members as she yelled at Edwards, who was also yelling and described by officers as "shirtless, wet, and visibly intoxicated."
Edwards was being handcuffed when 22-year-old Zachary Meyers of Pinellas Park arrived and began charging the scene, yelling "get ready to arrest me" while heading towards Edwards and ignoring officer's commands before getting tased by an officer and handcuffed.
That's when Hayley Meyers started screaming and pushing past family members. She was detained and handcuffed as well.
All three were taken to the Lee County Jail and charged with misdemeanor Disorderly Intoxication.
