FORT MYERS, Fla. -- An iconic building in downtown Fort Myers has a new owner.

Fischler Property Company, a local real estate firm, sold the building, located on First Street and Jackson Street for 4.4 million to a buyer from Canada on Monday.

The building was built in 1911.

It was originally the headquarters for the city's military establishment.

The "Odd Fellows Hall," which was on the third floor during prohibition, is alleged to have been the city's first speakeasy.

The building currently features Izzy's Fish and Oyster, and Soni Yoga.

The building's distinctive appearance will not change, and Fischler Property Company expects the current tenants to stay there.
