Police search for convicted felon who fled on foot in North Port

NORTH PORT, Fla. — UPDATE 4:45 pm

North Port Police is trying to locate a convicted felon who fled on foot.

Police arrested Robert Steven Harrelson, 44 is wanted on multiple felonies for drugs and weapons.

Air one from the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is being utilized along with our K9 Unit.

The North Port Police Department is warning residents in the area of South Cranberry Boulevard and Spice lane to lock their doors.

Police are after an wanted individual that fled on foot.

Police are not letting kids who walk or ride home alone from Cranberry Elementary school.

Deputies set up a perimeter and are not letting kids walk or ride home alone.

All other parents pick up, and buses are as normal.
