For twenty years, Aubuchon Team of Companies has hosted its event Helping Hands for the Holidays in Cape Coral, which raises money for Make-A-Wish Foundation, Ronald McDonald House and Builders Care here in Southwest Florida.

The event has raised over $500,000 since it began.

"The overall theme is helping children, families of ill children and elderly," said Gary Aubuchon.

Ecaterina and Sam Comeriato have been staying at the Ronald McDonald House since September. They recently became parents of preemie triplets.

"One of our girls, Sammy, she started having problems with her heart and we had to take them out early," Ecaterina said.

The three girls, Sammy, Lyla, and Michaela were born at 25 weeks and each weighed just over a pound. Ecaterina and Sam said being able to stay at the Ronald McDonald House while their girls get treatment has been a blessing.

Sam said, "She gets to stay up here every day and I get to go back to Naples and work. And then on my days off, I'm up here and get to spend time with them because we don't want to be too far away from them."

Helping Hands for the Holidays is a free event on Monday, November 19th. The event is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Aubuchon's corporate headquarters in Cape Coral. To donate, click here.
