CAPE CORAL, Fla — The health alert for Cape Coral - Makai Canal is expanding and will now include the Highlander Canal.
The Florida Department of Health in Lee County made the decision after reports of algae toxins found in the canal.
DOH recommends people avoid contact with the water.
They will continue to post updates on their website Floridadep.gov.
