Harriet the Eagle lays first egg of 2018 nesting season

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. -- We have an egg!  Harriet the bald eagle of the world-famous Southwest Florida Eagle Cam has laid her first egg of this nesting season, and nest watchers are hoping for a 2nd egg soon.

Harriet and her mate M15 produced egg #1 on Friday afternoon, much to the joy of their numerous followers around the world.

Now all eyes are on the nest, hoping for a 2nd egg.  Harriet has laid two eggs every season since the eagle cam launched in 2012.
