FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The Lee County School Board has voted to put a proposed tax increase on the ballot later this year.
A 5-1 vote by the school board Monday morning is sending the measure on the November ballot, instead of a potential special election in May.
If voters approve, the sales tax would be raised one half cent to six and a half percent.
