PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- Investigators made a fortunate discovery this week as they searched for burglary suspect in Port Charlotte.

While Charlotte County Deputies were searching a neighborhood for a wanted subject on Wednesday, they found a open side garage door that looked like it was forced open.

Deputies say they couldn't find the homeowner and thinking there may have been a burglary in progress then went inside the home.

Inside the home they found a fake wall in the master bedroom with glowing lights coming out from the the wall.

After a search warrant and further investigation, the narcotics unit found 500 grams of cannabis as well as 34 cannabis plants, and equipment used to grow cannabis.

The homeowners, Michael Mathern and Amanda Mathern, were arrested for possession of cultivation of marijuana.
