CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Forget groundhog Day. This weekend, Cape Coral is going to have its own mascot for "Ground‐Owl" day.
The Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife hosted a "name the ground-owl" contest, in which people sent an email with name suggestions.
The winner has been selected and will be the new mascot of the "Ground-Owl Day" event.
It's set for Sunday, February 2nd at the Rotary Community Garden at 9am in the morning.
