LAKE OKEECHOBEE, Fla. -- At 11:30 this morning, Governor Scott will tour the Herbert Hoover Dike at lake Okeechobee.
The aging dike cleared its latest inspections last Friday.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers found no areas of concern.
They inspect the southern half of the dike twice a week, and the northern half once a week.
They do this whenever the lake's water level goes above 16 feet.
Right now, it's just under 17 feet.
The army corps is releasing water into the Caloosahatchee river to reduce these levels.
