CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Deputies are investigating an alleged sexual assault that happened on a school bus coming from Challenger Middle School in Cape Coral.
The middle school victim's mother told deputies her daughter was upset after school, Monday, because a male student pinned her daughter to her seat, and groped her chest. The girl says she told him to stop several times.
Other students witnessed the incident, and also said the girl was visibly upset. One student said the "actions made her very uncomfortable, as he was being very forceful," while another student said the incident "was very inappropriate."
The mother is pursuing battery charges on behalf of her daughter. No one was injured during the incident.
The Lee County School District says immediate action was taken upon learning about the incident, and the student was disciplined per the student code of conduct. It is unknown if the bus driver saw the incident happen.
