COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. --- A documented Collier County gang member was arrested for possession of cocaine on Friday.

According to Collier County Sheriff's, Arturo Sosa, 35, was driving northbound on Santa Barbara Boulevard in a silver minivan when he reportedly rapidly cut in front of an unmarked police car.

The deputy conducted a traffic stop after Sosa was traveling 63 mph in a 45 mph zone. Investigators say Sosa was seen placing an unknown item underneath his body as the deputy approached the car.

When asked for his driver's license, deputies say Sosa appeared to be nervous, confused and began fumbling with both his wallet and a handful of papers in his hand. While checking his driver's license, Sosa was asked to step out of the car and a small clear plastic baggie with white powder was found in the driver's seat.

Sosa was placed in handcuffs while deputies tested the substance for cocaine. Sosa is charged with possession of cocaine. He is also currently on probation for grand theft charges.
