Three arrests have been made in the violent road rage incident caught on video Jan. 9, involving a group of bikers that brutally attacked a man on Pondella Road in North Fort Myers. One of the men was arrested in Cleveland late yesterday afternoon.
The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Ramon Medina Santiago yesterday afternoon. Santiago was identified as one of the suspects involved in the violent attack and a warrant was issued for his arrest on Jan. 20. U.S. Marshals in Ft. Myers worked with Cleveland law enforcement to locate Santiago when they learned that he fled to Ohio, taking his 6-year-old twin daughters with him.
Santiago's twin girls were turned over to Children’s Services in Cuyahoga County and eventually returned to family in Florida.
Late last night, detectives arrested Roberto Deltoro, 35, for his role in the assault. Deltoro is facing charges of felony battery and property damage and is being held on a $10,000 bond at the Lee County Jail.
Jermin DeLeon, 36, was arrested earlier this week and is facing charges of aggravated battery and criminal mischief.
According to police, on Jan. 9, the group was riding motorcycles and causing disorder for other drivers. They became violent with one of the drivers who attempted to get away from the chaos. The victim, a 28-year-old male, was hit with a wrench and with motorcycle helmets, causing significant injuries to him and major damage to his vehicle. The attack was eventually broken up by bystanders and the suspects fled the area.
