Marine Veteran Jonathan Bounds is among more than 100 veterans cross the country who received newly-refurbished vehicles during Progressive Insurance’s sixth annual Keys to Progress event, on Thursday.

In Ft. Myers, the vehicle was refurbished by teammates at Caliber Collision, who donated their time to restore the vehicle and collect donations to stuff the trunk with gifts and toys for the veteran and his family.

Bounds served six years in the U.S. Marine Corps and is currently enrolled at the University of Florida. He plans to work with the U.S. National Parks.

Before the donation, Bounds said his family had only had a 2007 Toyota Corolla with over 100k miles, which frequently breaks down.

They have been without a vehicle for months now as they can’t afford to fix it. This new vehicle will provide critical transportation for Bounds as he completes his education and takes care of his family.
