Fort Myers to deploy firefighters to Florida's east coat for possible help with Dorian

FORT MYERS, Fla. — The City of Fort Myers has deployed a crew staffed with four FMFD firefighters, joined Engine Strike Team 1603 from Lee County to Palm Beach County in preparation for potential Hurricane Dorian effects on Florida’s east coast.

Captain Mike Deke, Engineer Joe Lefebre, Firefighter Yunel Perez-Mazola and Firefighter Mike Szabo are staging at Florida International University along with other state assets. Chief of Operations James Hayden, Strike Team Leader, is also part of the deployment.
