Fort Myers to buy new police headquarters for less

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The Fort Myers Police Department will have two wait at least two years before they can move into their new police headquarters.

The department wants to buy the old News Press property, but it has petroleum contamination.

It's going to take two years, and cost between $60,000 and $115,000 to clean up.

The city still wants to move forward with buying the property, but they're going to get it now for a discounted price.
