Fort Myers Police accreditation public input session in Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla. — A team is in Fort Myers today to see whether the Fort Myers Police Department meets the standards for accreditation.

It's a voluntary process, and the department must comply with 359 standards to gain accredited status.

A public information session will be held on October 15, 2019.

It's a chance for members of the community to share their thoughts on how the department is doing in terms of meeting those standards.
