FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The Fort Myers city council is expected to approve a lease of 25 new police patrol cars Monday.

It'll cost the city over $1.1 million.

The patrol cars will be purchased from the Fort Myers Galloway Ford dealership. The cars will be leased for four years, instead of outright purchased.

Once those four years are up, the city will own the cars.

Many of the police department's current fleet of cars need to be replaced because of high mileage and the age of vehicles.
