Fort Myers bank robbed by masked man with a cane

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Investigators are searching for a man who robbed a BB&T bank in Fort Myers Tuesday morning.

According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, the suspect walked into the bank brach on Daniels Parkway just west of I-75 shortly before noon.

The man handed the teller a note demanding cash. The teller complied, and the suspect fled the bank.

No weapon was seen or implied during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-40's to early 50's, and walked with a cane. He wore a surgical mask and red baseball cap during the robbery.

Anyone with information on the identity and whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $3,000.
