LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. — Lee County deputies arrested Joseph Devolliere, 27, of Lehigh Acres, after he text several FedEx employees that he was planning a mass shooting at the Fort Myers facility.

The texts were sent Nov. 11, which prompted a sheriff’s office investigation. Detectives discovered that Devolliere had been terminated for inappropriate behavior, including sexual harassment of a minor and another incident where he slashed a table with a boxcutter.

Detectives also found that Devolliere had previously made several reported threats in the Fort Lauderdale area, some involving the use of a firearm.

Deputies executed a search warrant on Devolliere’s home and vehicle where they located a firearm and ammunition.

Devolliere faces charges of Intimidation (send written threat conduct mass shooting).
