FMPD needs help identifying suspect in hit and run crash

The Fort Myers Police Department is seeking assistance from the public regarding a hit and run crash on Sunday morning.  

A vehicle struck a female bicyclist in the area of Evans Avenue just North of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd around 2:00 a.m., according to FMPD.

FMPD said the bicyclist is still unidentified, she is in critical condition. 

The vehicle fled the scene, and based on the crash scene investigation the suspect vehicle is believed to be a white 2014-2015 Kia Optima. Police said the vehicle should have damage to the right front and windshield.

Anyone with information on this investigation can contact Fort Myers Police Department or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). A cash reward up to $3,000 could be given.
