COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.-- Another panther is headed to Gainesville for a necropsy after it was hit and killed in Collier County.
Florida Fish and Wildlife says the 4-year-old male was found on Nov. 8 on Immokalee Road.
This marks the 20th panther roadkill this year. Florida set a record in 2016 when 34 panthers were killed on local roads.
Only about 280 panthers remain in the wild.
