CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla — Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a hit-and-run crash in Charlotte County that sent a motorcyclist to the hospital.
It happened on Monday.
Troopers say a driver of a white color sedan was driving south on US-41 in the inside lane.
They say a 33-year-old man was on his motorcycle traveling north on US-41.
The man was approaching Dahlgren Avenue.
The driver of the sedan lost control of it and ended up crossing the median into the northbound lanes and colliding with the motorcycle, troopers say.
The man was separated from his motorcycle and ended up on the inside lanes of US-41.
The motorcycle ended up stopping on the curb of Dahlgren Avenue.
The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
FHP says the driver of the sedan made a U-turn on northbound US-41 and drove away on Dahlgren Avenue.
Investigators believe the sedan could be a Honda Accord.
