LEE COUNTY, Fla. — According to Florida Highway Patrol, nearly 2,500 crashes have occurred in Lee County so far this year, so 4 In Your Corner spoke with Lieutenant Greg Bueno about safe driving tips to keep in mind.

Lieutenant Bueno says Florida is the third largest state in the nation, with more than 16 million licensed drivers and over 100 million visitors every year. He says this growth has impacted the rising number of crashes in the state significantly.

Some tips from FHP include driving with your headlights on from sunset to sunrise, including twighlight hours, leaving your headlights on after the sun has risen if there is fog present, if your windshield wipers are on, so are your headlights and be visible on the road. Be able to safely see down the road.
