PUNTA GORDA, Fla. — The 1st United Methodist Church, Punta Gorda celebrated Christmas Eve morning with family-fun activities, including a Live Nativity scene and petting zoo at Gilchrist Park. A contemporary service is planned for 4 pm. At Gilchrist Park, followed by traditional candle lighting services at 6 and 8 pm at the Life Center on the church’s campus.
The church held a Christmas Eve service at 11:00 am with festive Christmas music and a brief message from Pastor Loomis. Children enjoyed feeding the sheep, goats, potbelly pig, chickens, bunnies, and ducks.
Guests for evening activities can park in the church parking lot and walk to the park, and may want to bring lawn chairs and or blankets.
There will be plenty of space for social distancing, and masks are required.
