Fire danger drastically increases overnight in Southwest Florida

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – Residents in Southwest Florida are being alerted to a drastic increase in fire danger in the area.

According to the Florida Forest Service, fire conditions on Wednesday listed no local counties higher than a moderate risk.

But Thursday’s fire map lists Collier and Glades counties are at an extreme risk. Lee, Hendry, and DeSoto are at very high risks, and Charlotte is at a high risk.
